Department Information

What do our teams look like?

The Dividend Planning Team ensures that dividends are distributed either as cash or shares to shareholders all around the globe on time, every time. What does that mean? Being a shareholder means you get a share in the company’s profits and companies issue that via a dividend. We distribute over £36 billion worth of dividends on behalf of our customers every year!

The Postal Share Dealing Team resolves queries/questions from customers who write to us by post or email and so this connects you directly with helping our customers. The queries could relate to shares the customer holds in other companies or a financial product such as an ISA (individual savings account). In order to resolve the query there will be some processing (letters back out to the customer/input to the system we use etc.).

The Corporate Actions Team manage those multi-billion pound Corporate Actions that you’ll see on the front page of the FT, such as IPO’s, takeovers and Rights Issues; whenever a Company decides to change its capital structure. The team require passion, energy and meticulous attention to detail to ensure our solutions and deliveries meet the needs of the Corporate Client and their customers.

The Cash Processing Team is responsible for transactions/payments relating to our own and branded online trading portals relating to individual customers (we call this our Retail business) for ISA, Child Trust Funds and SIPP’s (Self Invested Pension Plan’s) and also where we are asked to sell shares on behalf of the companies we do work for. The Cash control team are responsible for ensuring all daily processing has been performed in a timely and accurate manner within the rules of the FCA (Financial Conduct Authority). We use our own “in house” and various banking systems and Microsoft applications to perform our tasks.

The Employee Services Team which are responsible for administration of a variety of Employee share plans. The teams deliver a service to over 150 corporate clients with plans ranging from a small number of employees to over 200,000 for big supermarkets and other street brands. One of our products allows individuals to hold their shares electronically in over 70 global locations.

The Reconciliations Team match external movements of money with internal accounting practices and during each day, both sides have to match. If they do not it needs investigation against the systems we use and with external providers such as major banks. The focus here is the detective control!

The Risk Team manage our risk carefully as we have to make sure our business remains compliant. So you would be monitoring limits, risks and recommending actions to resolve problems and then reporting on these and tracking whether they have been resolved

The Shared Support Team manage data, huge amounts of data and data systems. If you have flair and passion for data, analysis and data systems please get in touch.

Core Duties/Responsibilities

Some of the teams described above deal with customer investments and the FCA (Financial Conduct Authority) regulates us. This means that the work we do is subject to strict controls, as we have to keep our customer money and investments safe.  As a result, we need people who are keen and want to give our customers a great experience by providing a high standard of service.  We like to describe this as meticulous!  To us this means when we say we will do something; we do it properly and get it right.

Some of our clients want us to perform checks if they suspect customers may have passed away to ensure benefits are being paid appropriately and not being claimed fraudulently, the team provide the administrative background for these checks.

Sound a bit technical? Don’t worry we will give you the right training to be able to know what you are talking about.  There will be an opportunity for you to learn new things or build on existing knowledge and experience that you may have from working in financial services or a customer service environment.

If you have previous experience or a passion for leading teams then we would also like to hear from you as we have some Team Leader roles available too.
